JESUS & MARY(Peace be upon them)
Prophet JESUS(pbuh) & LADY MARY in Islam
MUSLIMS BELIEVE THAT:
JESUS WAS ONE OF THE MIGHTIEST MESSENGERS OF GOD,
The Muslims belief is based on the concept of Prophet Hood. God has sent 124000 Prophets
to educate, guide and show the right path to the mankind. Jesus was also among them, but what makes Jesus so
special for us is that he is known as the “Ulil Azam nabi” (greatest of Prophets). This title is only given to
four Prophets: Moosa(Moses), Isa(Jesus), Dawood(Dawid) and Mohammad. This shows how important was Jesus.
In the Quran, Jesus is reported as saying that he came: "To attest the law which was before me. And to
make lawful to you part of what was forbidden to you; I have come to you with a sign from your
Lord, so fear God and obey me." (Quran 3:50)
HE WAS BORN MIRACULOUSLY - WITHOUT ANY MALE INTERVENTION,
Jesus (PBUH) was born miraculously through the same power which had brought Adam (PBUH) into being without
a father: Truly, the likeness of Jesus with God is as the likeness of Adam. He created him of dust, and then
said to him, 'Be!' and he was. (Quran 3:59).
The story of Jesus' birth from Mary is narrated in the Holy Quran. We are told that he was born without a
father by the command of God. Mary was single and a chaste woman. All quotations are from Holy Quran.
21:91 And (remember) her who guarded her chastity: We breathed into her of Our Spirit, and we made her
and her son a Sign for all peoples.
19:16 Relate in the Book (the story of) Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place in the East.
19:17 She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them: then We sent to her Our angel, and he appeared
before her as a man in all respects.
19:18 She said: "I seek refuge from thee to (God) Most Gracious: (come not near) if thou dost fear God."
19:19 He said: "Nay, I am only a messenger from thy Lord, (to announce) to thee the gift of a holy son."
19:20 She said: "How shall I have a son, seeing that no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste?"
19:21 He said: "So (it will be): thy Lord saith, `That is easy for Me: and (We wish) to appoint him as a Sign
unto men and a Mercy from Us': it is a matter (so) decreed."
19:22 So she conceived him, and she retired with him to a remote place.
19:23 And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm-tree: she cried (in her anguish): "Ah!
Would that I had died before this! Would that I had been a thing forgotten and out of sight!"
19:24 But (a voice) cried to her from beneath the (palm-tree): "Grieve not! For thy Lord hath provided a
rivulet beneath thee; 19:25 "And shake towards thyself the trunk of the palm-tree: it will let fall fresh ripe
dates upon thee.
19:26 "So eat and drink and cool (thine) eyes. And if thou dost see any man, say, `I have vowed a fast to
(God) Most Gracious, and this day will I enter into no talk with any human being.' "
MARY IS THE ONE OF THE MOST CHASTE LADIES,
His mother Mary is regarded as one of the most pure and exalted women of all creation. As the Quran
says:
"Behold! The angel said: 'God has chosen you and purified you and has chosen you above the
women of all nations. O Mary! God gives you the good news of a word from Him, whose name shall
be Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, honored in this world and the hereafter, and one of those brought
near to God" (3:42).
Muslims regard Mary as one of the chastest lady and the lady of the heaven. The Quran testifies for her
chastity:
She said: 'O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man has touched me?' He said: 'Even so;
God creates what He wills. When He decrees a thing, He says to it, "Be!" and it is.'(Quran 3:42-7)
JESUS SPOKE AS A BABY
19:27 at length she brought the (babe) to her people, carrying him (in her arms). They said: "O Mary!
Truly an amazing thing hast thou brought!
19:28 "O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a woman unchaste!"
19:29 But she pointed to the babe. They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?"
19:30 He said: "I am indeed a servant of God: He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet;
19:31 "And He hath made me Blessed whosesoever I be, and hath enjoined on me Prayer and Charity as
long as I live;
19:32 "(He) hath made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable;
19:33 "So Peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the Day that I shall be raised up to
life (again)"!
19:34 such (was) Jesus the son of Mary: (it is) a statement of truth, about which they (vainly) dispute.
19:35 It is not befitting to (the majesty of) God that He should beget a son. Glory is to Him! When He
determines a matter, He only says to it, "Be," and it is.
19:36 Verily, God is my Lord and your Lord: He therefore serves you: this is a Way that is straight.
19:37 But the sects differ among themselves: and woe to the Unbelievers because of the (coming)
Judgment of a momentous Day!
HE GAVE LIFE TO THE DEAD BY GOD'S PERMISSION,
AND
THAT HE HEALED THOSE BORN BLIND AND THE LEPERS BY
GOD'S PERMISSION.
Muslims believe that every Prophet was sent with some signs of God or miracles and so was Jesus.
During his prophetic mission, Jesus performed many miracles. The Quran tells us that he said:
"I have come to you with a sign from your Lord: I make for you out of clay, as it was, a figure of a
bird, and breathe into it and it becomes a bird by God's leave. And I heal the blind, and the
lepers, and I raise the dead by God's leave." (Quran 3:49)
IN FACT NO MUSLIM IS A MUSLIM IF HE DOES NOT BELIEVE IN
JESUS!"
To conclude, it can be stated that if Muslims remove the faith on Jesus, his book (the bible) and
his miraculous birth, it is equivalent to denying in the existence of God, his messengers, Prophet
Mohammed, his book (Quran) and his great family, the ahlalbait.
THE LINEAGE:
Allah bestowed Abraham with two sons: Isaac and Ishmael. From Isaac’s lineage, Jesus was born and is
still kept alive by the will of God. From Ishmael’s lineage, Mohammed (P.B.U.H) was born and from
him Al Mahdi was born who is still alive by the will of God. Christians and Muslims together await
their saviors who would join hands together to wipe out all tyrants and oppressors and to spread the
message of love and peace.
Here's what Holy Quran speaks about Christians:
“And nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say “We are
Christians”: Because among these are men devoted to learning and men who have
renounded the world. And they are not arrogant.” Holy Quran (5:58)
